Excerpts from the December 19th edition:

Reading and Writing:  ”...Our focus during language arts continues to be vocabulary development and repetition with high frequency words..."

Math:  "...We recently moved onto graphing, and have used our graphing skills to represent data that we have collected through student surveys..."

ASL:  "...The students always love trying to think up signs that match the 5 handshapes for the season and they do a great job. We also learned about A to Z stories in ASL and watched several stories created by ASL poet Andrew Byrne..."

Science:  ”...The students wrote about and drew pictures of balance in their science interactive notebooks. The students learned that balance can be maintained when there is equal weight on each side..."

Art:  ”...The student experimented with yellow and blue to actually see the wide variety of greens that can be made, we also added black and white to our green mixtures to work with the idea of “shades” and “tints” and how they affect color. Jean Rousseau’s jungle and foliage artwork was often the subject of discussion, and the students did some viewing and interaction on the SMART board...”
