MDS-MNSA Merger Information

Metro Deaf School (MDS) and Minnesota North Star Academy (MNSA) are merging as of July 1st, 2009. We will become a PreKindergarten through 12th grade program.  We will be using this page for updated information, announcements, and to advise the community about meetings and/or events related to this merger.

Pictorial of our new story... June 1st: The 4 new pictures show the 2nd story concrete portion of the floor. The first floor will be 12’ from floor to ceiling, the gym will be 30' floor to ceiling (roof deck).

History in the Making

As you know, the memberships of both schools were invited to an informational meeting on December 16th.  This meeting was followed by independent voting by the 2 groups

What transpired was history! The votes from both schools’ memberships were overwhelmingly in favor of the merger so it passed!! Come Fall 2009, the 2 schools will become a Pre-K—12th Grade program serving D/HH students across the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.
